*New Lampshade Range*

For a while now I have been dreaming about designing a range of Lampshades to compliment my Wallpaper and Homeware Collection.

Finally I have got round to doing exactly that and I'm so excited to share the unveiling with you.
Please welcome lampshade design number one; Pretty Flower...

As Pretty Flower was my first wallpaper design for Laura Felicity I think it's fitting to start off with this vintage classic; but I haven't stopped there, I also wanted to treat you to additional screen printed extras.

Pretty Flower Lampshade, 9inch (h) x 9 inch (dia), Vintage Pink & Gold

In true Laura Felicity style I can't just stop at a one layered screen print if I can help it, and the Pretty Flower Lampshade is no exception.

I have screen printed the first layer in my familiar Pretty Flower wallpaper (and now cushion!) colour range; Vintage Pink, Antique Cream & Duck Egg Blue.
I have also worked back into the first layer with green printed flowers and cream/pink printed butterflies.
Then to give each Lampshade the 'Pièce de Résistance' I had to add the classical yet beautiful gold and silver foil printed butterflies.

Pretty Flower Lampshade, 9inch (h) x 9 inch (dia), Antique Cream & Silver

The additional layering of colours and metallic foils is influenced by one of my Bespoke Wallpaper Designs, which works fantastically well with the lampshades as to gives them that extra depth and sparkle when in different lighting.

I think this is a beautiful addition to the Laura Felicity Interior Accessories range, and looks stunning in both natural and low lighted atmospheres.

The lampshades are available in one size; 9 inch height x 9 inch diameter, the perfect size for a bed side table lamp or a side lamp in the Living Room.

The Pretty Flower design has been screen printed onto 100% cotton fabric, and lined with 100% PVC lining which is fire retardant, making it a perfectly safe lampshade to use over and over again.

These lampshades are pattern perfect for an added feature to any room with a subtle sense of elegance about them...they also look very pretty against the matching wallpaper!

The Pretty Flower Lampshades and other new products you have seen here over the past few weeks will be available to buy on my website in mid June.

Laura Felicity

Yay! Group Photo Time...

Before  write tomorrow's post about another new product coming your way in June, I wanted to share this lovely group photo of the Craft Central Showcase Group.

Made In Clerkenwell Showcase

As you would have read on the blog early last week, I took part in the 'Handmade For Home' Showcase which opened for Clerkenwell Design Week, and carried on into Craft Central's Made In Clerkenwell.

Despite our fantastic heat wave we have had over the past week, it did not stop people from day one coming in and browsing our Showcase Collection.

We had very good foot fall through our doors throughout the week, and we hope everyone liked the Showcase and their purchases.

If you weren't able to make it down here are some lovely photos of the Showcase...

 The Showcase

The Foyer

During the week Craft Central put together the idea for their advertising window to act as a 'Studio of the Maker', for passers by to get an slight insight to the 'Makers Making'.
Different Designer-Makers from a range of disciplines took it in turns to make or put the finishing touches onto their handmade products.

...and yes, I had the chance of being apart of the live window, where I was putting together some of my Lavender Bags.
However with the sun glaring through the window, and the heat from outside I could only stay in there for 45 minutes as it was like a sauna!

Great idea though!

I can't believe how quickly last week went!

If you were able prize yourself away from the sun to made it down, I hope you enjoyed the show.

Best Wishes,

Laura Felicity

*New* Dotty Bird Cushion

A couple of weeks ago I post about our already available Pretty Flower Cushion getting a make over, which will be ready to launch at this year's Pulse Trade Show 2012.

Me being me, I wasn't completely satisfied with just doing a makeover for one cushion design, but I also wanted to create a new cushion design to add to the range.  And yes you've guessed it, it's our much loved Dotty Bird Design!

Dotty Bird Cushion, Front, 45cm x 45cm, all colour ways

Dotty Bird Cushion, Reverse, 45cm x 45cm, all colour ways

Dotty Bird has been taken from our wallpaper range and made into not only lavender bags, but also cushions.  We just can't get enough of this fab design.

The new Dotty Bird Cushion will be available in the three colour ways of the Dotty Bird wallpaper, and available in two sizes.
The standard measurements for the two cushions are 45cm x 45cm and 40cm x 60cm.  The cushions come filled with 100% cotton and duck feather inner cushion pads, to give that extra bit of fluffiness and comfort to the cushion.

What a perfect excuse to start the Dotty Bird cushion collection to sit along your sofa or bed...and obviously have the matching Dotty Bird wallpaper to compliment.

Dotty Bird Cushion, Front, 40cm x 60cm, all colour ways
Dotty Bird Cushion, Reverse, 40cm x 60cm, all colour ways

Similar to our Pretty Flower Cushions, Dotty Bird has been hand screen printed onto 100% Linen in the three available matching wallpaper colours.  I have found a complimentary fabric for the reverse of each cushion, which features either a gold or silver 'sparrow on a branch' metallic foil screen print.
The reverse fabric is 100% Cotton Linen.

....And in true Laura Felicity style, I can't stop at just giving you a solely screen printed product, I wanted to include an extra special something to these new cushions to give the them the wow factor;
For extra depth and intrigue I have machine embroidered three blossoms on the front of the Dotty Bird cushion, which I think brings the cushion to life.

One glimpse at these and I'm sure you'll fall in love with them!

These will be available for purchase on the Laura Felicity website in June.

Laura Felicity

On Friday 18th May, I posted about the 'Handmade For Home' Showcase I will be featuring in for the end of Clerkenwell Design Week, which then leads nicely into 'Made In Clerkenwell: Open Studios', both held by Craft Central.

Since Friday, you may have read via my Twitter page, that my weekend prior to the showcases has been a little hectic and was spent putting the finishing touches to fresh batch of stock I've made especially for the shows over the past couple of weeks, preparing and packing it all up, and heading down to Clerkenwell to set up the Showcase with my other fellow designer friends...

To tease you, I thought I'd share some set up photos of the showcase coming together to tempt you even more to come down, take a look around and make some purchases throughout the week...

Hand Cut and Personalised Art Print

One thing I find people really love to buy is personalised items.  Whether it be for a gift or for the home; having initials, names, or even particular dates makes people sentimental and more attached to their bought item.

Personalising a Laura Felicity product is difficult, especially as most of my products are screen printed from an acetate image and then individually handmade, meaning it isn't cost effective to produce individual asks in the retail range.

However, I decided a perfect way to bring in a personalised touch to one of my new products is to hand cut lovely images from one of my screen printed wallpaper designs and arrange them into a certain formation.  This means you are able to get the best of both worlds from a Laura Felicity product; a hand screen printed and hand cut purchase, which relates to you personally.

Please welcome my Hand Cut & Personalised Art Print...

Hand Cut & Personalised Art Print, Rose Pink & Charleston Grey, 23cmx23cm

As I've mentioned in my previous Art Print Blogs the story behind each hand cut piece is I wanted to create three dimensional art prints which are simply intriguing.  Inspired by the hand cut aspect with the butterflies on my Geometric Flutter Art Print I have hand cut small fluttering birds out of the lovely Dotty Bird wallpaper and arranged into a single initial.

In true Hand Cut Art print style the birds have been machine embroidered onto a card backing, and placed in a lovely three dimensional frame so the fold ups on each cut out is not lost.

Hand Cut & Personalised Art Print, Cream & Plum Purple, 23cmx23cm

This print will be available in the the retail Dotty Bird wallpaper colours; Rose Pink & Charleston Grey, Cream & Plum Purple, and Teal & Summer Green, and is sized 23cm x 23cm.
It is a perfect size to either be hung on the wall, or placed as a table or shelf piece.

Hand Cut & Personalised Art Print, Cream & Plum Purple, 23cmx23cm

Something a little extra special about this Art Print is that it can be personalised for you or someone close to you, making it a perfect gift and displayed feature for the home.
Whether it's a single initial or a collective of a few initials, i.e for an individual or a family, the Hand Cut and Personalised Art Print is a subtle, beautiful product which is a lovely art piece to admire, as well as adding a touch of sentimentality to a room.

I'm all a flutter with this lovely Art Print, I hope you will be too!

Laura Felicity

Pretty Flower Gets A Makeover...

As you are aware we already have available for purchase our Pretty Flower Cushion.

However, after much deliberation I have decided to give this lovely cushion a little make over and change our colour options.

Take a look at the new, revamped Pretty Flower Cushion...

Pretty Flower Cushion, Front, 45cm x 45cm, all colour ways

Pretty Flower Cushion, Reverse, 45cm x 45cm, all colour ways

Now with the new and improved Pretty Flower Cushion you will be able to choose from three colours that matches our Pretty Flower Wallpaper range, plus these cushions will be available in not one, but two sizes!
The measurements for the two cushions are in the standard sizes of 45cm x 45cm and 40cm x 60cm.
Now it's perfect to start a Pretty Flower Cushion collection going along the sofa or bed...and purchasing the wallpaper to match.

Pretty Flower Cushion, Front, 40cm x 60cm, all colour ways

Pretty Flower Cushion, Reverse, 40cm x 60cm, all colour ways

Like the original, the new Pretty Flower Cushion has been hand screen printed onto 100% cotton for its front with an additional layer print of either a gold or silver butterfly which is located on the front and reverse of each cushion.

The reverse fabric has been hand selected to match Pretty Flower's colour options and finished with hand embroidered vintage buttons and pearls.

I love the reversible quality to this cushion design as the cusomer can literally choose which facade they would like to have on their furniture with just the one cushion (or two).  It just depends on what frame of mind they are for at the time; patterned luxury or simply elegant.

I think you'll love these new and improved cushions just as much as I do!

These will be available for purchase on the Laura Felicity website in June.

Laura Felicity

Another Sneak Peek!

I hope your week is going well!

This week for me is going very fast, the days are just merging into one; what with prep for Pulse Trade Show (in June) as well as being apart of Craft Central's Made In Clerkenwell and Clerkenwell Design Week held at the end of May.  It's all go, go, go over here...and yes don't remind me, it's only a 2 week difference between shows! I must be crazy!

Anyway, enough of the ranting, it's that time of the week again where I want to show you another Sneak Peek into what will be available for all you lovely people to buy in mid June from Laura Felicity...

...please welcome my Hand Cut Heart Art Print...

Hand Cut Heart Art Print, Hot Pink & Lime, 23cmx23cm

Focusing on gifts for yourself (we all want to spoil ourselves from time to time) or a loved one, I wanted to create three dimensional art prints which are simply intriguing.  Inspired by the hand cut aspect with the butterflies on our Geometric Flutter Art Print I have hand cut small hearts out of the lovely Geometric Flower wallpaper and arranged into a hollow heart shape.
The hand cut hearts have been machine embroidered onto a card backing, and placed in a lovely three dimensional frame so the fold ups on each cut out is not lost!

Hand Cut Heart Art Print, Grey & Coral, 23cmx23cm

This print will be available in the the retail Geometric Flower wallpaper colours; Hot Pink & Lime, Grey & Coral and Light Rose & Cream, and is sized 23cm x 23cm.
It is a perfect size to either be hung on the wall, or placed as a table or shelf piece.

Hand Cut Heart Art Print, Light Rose & Cream, 23cmx23cm

Something a little extra special about this art print is that it's a fabulous gift for someone to say you love them.  With the focus of this piece being a decorative feature for the home, it can also be a subtle reminder to show how much you appreciate/or are appreciated by that someone extra special.
The three available colours means the design is not too much of a girly heart, but instead it's a perfectly quiet gesture to show your love off. ;)

I'm falling head over heels for this piece...what about you?!

Best Wishes,

Laura Felicity
