Chelsea Christmas Fair 4th November 2012

I must admit talking about Christmas before it's even been Halloween feels a little odd, but this coming Sunday 4th November I am taking part in We Make London's First Christmas Fair of the season.

Situated at Chelsea Town Hall on the famous Kings Road, London, 80 Designer-Makers will be selling their products to customers who are already preparing for the Festive Christmas Season.

As well as selling my interior accessories including; lampshades, cushions, handcut art prints, lavender bags, and greetings cards, I also have an exciting prize giveaway for those who sign up to my Mailing List on the day.

There will be a three prize giveaway including a Pretty Flower Cushion (rrp £52.50), Set of Four Lace Plaster Coasters (rrp £36.00) as well as a Lavender Bag of your choice (rrp £13-£14), and the only way to win one of these lovely products is by coming along to the Fair itself!

What a perfect gift idea for a 'Present For Nothing'!

'Craft It Yourself' Printing Workshop

As you may remember reading on the blog back in May, myself and my lovely friend/fellow screen printer Lucie Pritchard held a Craft It Yourself; Print Workshop at Craft Central during Clerkenwell Design Week.

With the workshop being a great success, Craft Central has asked us to hold another workshop in time for Christmas.

Lucie and I are going to be doing a two hour Christmas Card Printing Workshop on Wednesday 31st October from 6pm, where you can let your creative side come out and design a beautiful hand printed Christmas Card (or two) for someone special.

The cost of the workshop is £19.99, which includes all printing materials and a complimentary glass of wine.  All you need to bring is yourself.

You'll get the chance to be introduced to Lino printing and Block printing, as well as try a hand at screen printing.

Spaces for the workshop are going fast, as we only have 4 spaces remaining.

If you've ever wanted to try some basic forms of printing and have fun with it, then this is the workshop for you!

Help us spread the word and why not invite a couple of friends along too.

Click here fore more information about our lovely workshop and to book.

We hope to see you next week!

Best Wishes,

Laura Felicity

My Pop Up Design Shop, by Zoe Brewer

On Tuesday 16th October I headed over to Willesden Green in North London to drop of some (long awaited) stock for Zoe Brewer, a lovely Interior Designer who currently has set up a great little Pop Up Shop full of individual designers.

After doing Pulse Trade Show in June, I was approached by Zoe to provide some of my homewares in her lovely Pop Up Shop until Christmas 2012.

The shop is a amongst a chain of Pop Up Shops in an area of Willesden Green, called Queens Parade.  Next to Zoe on one side you have a cute vintage clothes shop, and an individual t-shirt printers on the the other.

The reason for this chain of Pop Up Shops is to get Willesden Green's high street supporting local designers, artists, and businesses, as well as rejuvenate the high street atmosphere in general.

Amongst the designers within Zoe's Pop Up Shop are the likes of Lettie Belle, Claire Coles, photograhy greetings cards from Barbara Chandler and of course now myself.

This is a great little shop to find some gorgeous handmade jewellery and interior accessories for the home, as well as unique gifts for loved ones.  If you are based in north London and are wanting to support independent businesses and local designers, then please pop in to here and spend some well earned money.

Take a look at Zoe's blog and website for 'My Pop Up Design Shop' for the location and more information.

Best Wishes,

Laura Felicity

*Birthday Celebrations!*

Hi all!

The past weekend I celebrated my Birthday, and I am now officially on the 'wrong side of twenty' some would say!

Reflecting back on this year alone and being 25, I have to disagree to this statement as I have had so much fun and an ever exciting year.  Yes, I've has my downs, but I feel I have gotten stronger and more confident in the person I am becoming and feel I can tackle my problems better than ever before, with a positive head on my shoulders.

I have met some lovely new friends through work and generally out and about, along with making sure I let my hair down once in a while by getting out away from the studio and to have a break from all the hard work I've been putting in to my business.

I have stepped up my business in terms of developing my Laura Felicity collection, and feel positive about where I am driving the business to be!

...Anyway I had a lovely Birthday weekend, which consisted of my lovely BF taking me out on Friday evening for a gorgeous meal at an Organic Gastro Pub in Islington called The Duke Of Cambridge.  If you've never been, this is definitely somewhere you have to try.  I had a ristotto dish, and I have to say, it was the best risotto I have ever tasted-to the extent I wanted more! (and believe me there was plenty on my plate to begin with.)

Before and after the meal he took me to a couple of bars, which again you should go to and try out.  Before the meal we went to Cuba Libra, a great Cuban Bar and Restuarant which does Tapas and Happy Hour every day!

Yes we did get a round of cocktails and beer chasers to start the night!

The other bar was The Bull, another great pub I'd fully recommend.  It was a perfect place to end a fabulous night with the BF!
...And a small sign of us both getting older-yes we both fell asleep all the way home on the last tube.  It's just lucky we are at the end of the line!

On Saturday I was up early and went to Zumba-a great wake up call to start your weekend off, especially when you had alcohol the previous night!  If you want something high impact and are based in North London, give these classes a go...they won't let you down!

Zumba was great fun as always and for the rest of the day I was able to relax and pamper myself for the night ahead (apart from walking the dogs).

'Press For Champange'!

The BF and I headed into King's Cross, where he treated me to a lovely glass of champagne at the famous Champagne Bar within the station.

Then we headed on over to a great tapas bar and restaurant called Camino, where we had a lovely selection of picky bits before the night of my birthday began.

After, we headed over to meet some friends at a fabulous bar called Drink, Shop & Dance, which is connected to the cafe and bar Drink, Shop & Do.  What used to be a sex shop, is now a great place to have good drinks from a selection of wine, beer, cocktails and gin as well as dance the night away to some current music and old school tunes.

We did not stop dancing for the whole night...

To finish off, on the Sunday, my actual birthday, I was spoiled with some lovely presents and a fabulous home made lasagne from my mum.  It was a very chilled out affair, after a very hectic and socialable weekend.

All in all I had a fabulous time of turning 26, and I can't wait to see what this year will bring in both work and life!

Best Wishes,

Laura Felicity

Breast Cancer Awareness Month, 1st-31st October

As you may or may not be aware this month is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

...and here at Laura Felicity I want to help!

A little fact about women and breast cancer;
Did you know 98% of women do not know the 5 signs to look out for when checking their breasts for breast cancer!!
I admit I am one of that 98% and after this week alone I can now list with confidence the 5 signs you need to look out for.

If you can't list with confidence what the signs are....take a look here.

So if you've been holding off buying something from our Laura Felicity Collection whether it's for a friend or to treat yourself, why not make the rash decision this month and make that Pink Purchase.

Available for Pink Purchase ;

The donations will be taken from the products and categories listed above and all other products available in Pink from Laura Felicity, which include my Pink Lace Embedded Coasters, all Pink Hand Cut Art Prints, all Pink Lavender Bags, all Pink Greeting Cards and are available on the online shop

Plus why not mention Laura Felicity to your friends, family and neighbours if they are after a unique gift for an occasion or themselves.

Thank you.

New Blog Feature

Over Tent London I met a lovely lady called Torie Jayne who writes a fabulous blog about all things pretty and creative, from shabby chic to fashion, via decorative crafts and stylish boutiques.

It was so great to hear that she loved my designs in particular the ever popular Dotty Bird, and since the Show has been over Torie has written a great blog feature about Laura Felicity.

Torie Jaynes Blog Feature;
When I came across Laura Felicity's work at Tent London my heart skipped a beat. Her delicate wallpaper print, entitled "dotty bird", adorned in bird cages, birds, dots and machine embroidery was so precious I had to stop and find out more...

"Laura Felicty is a London based Designer-Maker whose hand drawn patterns and developed skills in Silk Screen Printing create her luxury Handmade Wallpapers and Soft Interior Homeware."

Laura graduated from The University of Hertfordshire in June 2009 and interned for well renowned designers Catherine Hammerton and Selina Rose before starting her own business in April 2010. Her company of the same name designs and creates the most delightful bespoke and retail interior pieces. Laura's graceful work combines layers of prints in a fresh unique way, all in a pared down shabby chic colour palette. Laura sources all her product materials within Britain and her hand drawn hand crafted collection is silk screen printed with the UK.

You can buy all of Laura's pretty interior treasures, including 6 metre rolls of wallpaper, art prints, hand embroidery finished cushions, lampshades, lavender bags, cards, lace embedded coasters at her online boutique, Laura Felicity. For her bespoke wallpapers that have metallic foils, embroidery and layered surfaces, check out her website.

What a lovely feature!

I have definitely found a new blog to follow.

Tent London 2012 Summary

Hello!
It's been a while since I last blogged, and if you have been reading over the past month, you will understand why...
On Thursday 20th - Sunday 23rd September I took part in the brilliant show 'Tent London' during the London Design Festival.
Based at the Truman's Brewery in Brick Lane, London, Tent London is a fantastic event to find very talented furniture, wallpaper and homeware designers.

With a busy four days I was able to meet all sorts of lovely people including press, interior designers, the general public, and some lovely friends who stopped by, as well as mingling and saying hi to the other designers exhibiting (when things were a little quiet of course).

For those who came by to say hi - old and new friends, thank you and I hope you enjoyed the show!

Now time to reveal my stand images for those who haven't yet seen...

I wanted to create a romantic, homely feel with my stand to reflect the Laura Felicity brand.

For the past few months I have been raiding skips, going along to Antique Markets, as well as searching around my parents house to find some lovely vintage props which give the right look for Laura Felicity and the products.

I'm really happy with how the stand looked...Let me know what you think!

Best Wishes,

Laura Felicity
