Introducing new products...on sale now!

Since exhibiting in Craft 2014 it's been busy behind the scenes at Laura Felicity HQ, connecting with new contacts, developing relationships with current contacts and getting new products ready to launch that were on display at the show.

Today three new products have been released via my online shop (will be available to purchase in other online/retail shops soon!) and I wanted to introduce them to you all.

I am very aware when designing my products that the finishing touches of the cushions and shades create a luxury element to the homeware, i.e. overlays of metallic foils, free-stitch embroidery and hand stitched vintage buttons and pearls, creating the product to be of the luxury price range.

However I am also aware that this isn't for everyone, and so have set about maximising my products to create a simplified version of the luxury item.

For the new diffusion version of Dotty Bird's design, I have stripped away all the finishing touches, and left the screen print design to be the focal point of the product.

Similar to the luxury products, three colour options are available and prices range from £55-£60.

Craft Trade Show, 2014

2014 really has started with hitting the ground running, as last week I took part in the first Trade Show for buyers of the year, Craft, the sister show to Topdrawer.

It was a really good show for Laura Felicity, as I got to meet some new business owners and contacts in the trade industry, meet clients who I am currently in business with, as well a take in orders.

Craft was also a great time to show case some new products, which are coming onto the scene in the next coming weeks, and start work on the style of Laura Felicity's new look through the dressing of the stand.

Goodbye 2013, Hello 2014!

Hello everyone and Happy New Year!

Wow what a year 2013 has been.  I don't know about anyone else, but I'm glad to see in the New Year and am really excited for what 2014 has in store.

Looking back over 2013, it was a cross roads year for me and Laura Felicity as a business.  I have three main points in the year where major decisions were made to steer the company to what I want it to be-and this year the growth continues.

At the beginning of 2013 Laura Felicity saw in the year with Home London Trade Show, which was a great start to the year for meeting new contacts and making connections.

One main venture that came from the show was working with a company called S-Blinds, a UK based company that produce made to measure blinds.  Laura Felicity has collaborated with them for their exclusive 'B-Inspired' Collection along with five other designers, and are available to purchase now.

 Still in it's early stages of marketing and sales, the window blinds are an area I will be promoting and exhibiting throughout 2014.

In Spring 2013, Laura Felicity started to design two new patterns to add to the collection, that were to be printed onto wallpaper for preview at my next Trade Show in September.

In September 2013, Laura Felicity saw in the second Trade Show of the year, Tent London.  Here I got to preview and test the water with a couple of products I developed through the Spring/Summer of 2013, to see reactions for the next product development I want to make in 2014.

...this included the two new wallpaper designs, and potential screen printed fabric by the meter.

Tent London turned out to be one of the best trade shows for me to date and was extremely beneficial for the business.  I was able to meet some interesting contacts and connections that will play a significant role into the development of Laura Felicity over what I deem to be the most important year for me. 2014!

As if product development and shows weren't enough for me, I also took on a few private commissions for wedding stationery throughout last year, consisting of favour bags, place cards, table plans and table numbers.
All stationery was handmade with screen printing, lino printing and hand cutting elements, bringing something unique to the celebratory tables.

As well as wedding stationery, I set up commercial lino and screen printing workshops based in Central London with Lucie Pritchard (a fellow screen printing friend), and North London/Hertfordshire areas (my local area).

During the sessions we/I taught workshoppers basic lino and screen print techniques, including creating your own rubber stamp and stencils, plus simple printing techniques to create final outcomes of print onto paper stationery, tote bags and tea towels.

 

 

The workshops really were good fun, and an area I will keep running throughout 2014, with private party print workshops to be introduced.

So, as you can see 2013 has been a development year for Laura Felicity, and in 2014 it's yet to get stronger with some interesting journeys I will surely be taking along the way!

**New Workshop Dates - BOOK NOW**

Hello Blog Readers!

How are we this week? Enjoying the last of the glorious (warm-ish) weather?

With the days getting shorter, evenings growing colder and darker, we are all wishing it was Summer again aren't we?!

Well as we know we can't control the seasons, but we can make sure we still carry on the fun we had during the holiday months.

On the run up to Christmas (yes I did say the dreaded C word!) why not keep your spirits high and do something for yourself to let your hair down before you have to start spoiling everyone else around you.

Come along to one of my printing workshops where I can promise you will not only walk away with a belly full of tea and delicious homemade cake, but feel relaxed, calm and inspired with designing and creating something you thought wasn't possible.  As well as having a fun evening.

I host two types of workshops; screen print and Lino print which are the processes I use to make my homewares and wedding stationery.
They are being held in London and Potters Bar for the run up to Christmas starting on wed evening 30th October with screen printing in Farringdon.
