A little project on the side line...

As well as running Laura Felicity and having just introduced CIY (Craft It Yourself) Lino Print Tea Party Workshops as a side line to the business, I have also got a project on the go at the moment to make wedding favours for a very lovely family friend of mine.

I was approached in December last year to add my designer-maker and handmade touch to their wedding by making the favour bags for a range of yummy sweets to go inside.

With a vintage theme for the wedding, I am about to put the idea I presented to the happy couple into something physical over the next few weeks and I can't wait to see the outcome!
...Think a mixture of lino print, hand cut hearts, ribbon and gift tags all combined onto paper sweet bags and you will be near my wedding favour idea.

For the mean time here are some of the inspiring images I found to give you an insight to what I am aiming for.

Images on the development and final outcome will be uploaded as soon as the wedding is here (at end of April!)

I can't wait to show you!

Another side line to the business on the way do you think?!

Have a lovely week.

Best Wishes,

Laura Felicity

New Wallpaper Designs In Mind...

With 2013 literally whizzing by, I am in the process of planning for Tent London 2013 as it is only 6 months away! (scary thought)

At the moment I am currently working on two new wallpaper designs, which will be for both retail sale and bespoke commissions, and will be released for first viewing at the show.

The initial designs are in my head, but I am currently at the research stage of resourcing different imagery and colours to make each pattern become a reality.

Here are some images of subject matter for what I have in mind, all will make sense in a the following months.
...However you know me, I love to layer and play around with eclectic imagery to make a Laura Felicity pattern be more unique than the norm.

I think these will fit in nicely with the Laura Felicity look.

I'd love to hear what you think!

Best Wishes,

Laura Felicity

Last week Lucie Pritchard and I held our first Lino Print Workshop Evening at Craft Central, Farringdon, and what a fabulous turn out it was!

Exciting steps...

As I mentioned a few weeks ago I've been doing a lot of Networking thanks to a great women's Networking group - Athena.  Even though it takes up a lot of your time, it's such a great way to get yourself out there and advertise your business.

Already it has led to great things, and meeting the owner of a lovely independent and local shop is one of them.

I approached Portobello Linens, a beautiful gift and homeware boutique based in Potters Bar, Hertfordshire, through a recommendation from a couple of Network members.  And it's been great to meet another local business with the same enthusiasm, visions to grow, and determination to better the business.

Through meeting Jane owner of Portobello Linens she has given me some exciting opportunities, which will hopefully promote Laura Felicity and give people more insight in to what Laura Felicity as a business does, especially to the local community.

A new feature to Portobello is their interior furnishing section.  Jane offers bespoke curtains, roller blinds, wallpapers and fabric (to also make up cushions!), which are made up from a range of prices for all budgets.

Jane believes in making the customer feel comfortable and happy with what they are spending their money on, no matter what their budget is.

As well as becoming a local stockist for my greeting cards, Portobello Linens is having a 'Love Your Home' week where my homewares and bespoke services are being featured!

The Laura Felicity cushions, lampshades and lavender bags are on display in the interior furnishing section (and for sale) within the boutique for this week only as part of the 'Love Your Home' promotion.

As well as my wares, Portobello is offering up to 20% off their soft furnishings, roller blinds, curtains, wallpaper, bed linen and table linen.

If you live locally and haven't been to visit this lovely shop yet, get yourself down there this week and purchase some beautiful products with discount!

Have a great week.

Best Wishes,

Laura Felicity
