Laura Felicity is exhibiting at Tent London 2012

Since Pulse I feel it has all been go, go, go with the business meaning the blog has lacked my attention.

But have no fear I am back and am starting to blog once a week starting today (unless there's to much exciting news where I an blogging twice a week!)...and I have a few exciting things lined up for posts already.

There are a few reasons as to why I have been hiding away in the studio rather than being out spoken on the lovely Social Media Networks...
1) I'm getting stock ready for our lovely new stockists - mass amount of printing and making has been going on!
2) I'm getting the website ready to FINALLY launch the new Interior Accessories collection
and 3)

All Printed Out...

It's been a very hectic week since last Wednesday.  I've been going non-stop which is why I haven't had time to update the blog until now!...Rubbish of me I know.

So, what have I been up to?
Well last Wednesday I held the little Drop In Screen Printing workshop for Zeena's Pop Up Shop's Open Evening, and it went down a storm.

Photo: We had an amazing time at our Pop-Up Shop, thank you for visiting everyone!

We were screen printing with visitors at the shop for over two hours pretty much non-stop and everyone loved their printed pieces!  It was a great turn out, and people really got involved with the printing.

Photo: Ready, Set, PRINT!

Zeena and I have also been in talk about holding some more of these lovely Drop-In Workshops.  Watch this space!

On another note I have been doing even more screen printing, but this time for myself.

Last Friday, plus Monday and Tuesday of this week I have been a busy bee in the printing workshop.  I've screen printed a mass of stock for the launch of my new products which were introduced at Pulse.  I'm hoping to release these in the next two weeks!

Plus I'm getting wholesale orders ready for three new stockists...how exciting!

With nearly 80 lavender bags and 18 lampshades printed, I only have the Dotty Bird and Pretty Flower cushions in both sizes to print and then it'll be time to sew, sew, sew and make everything up into products.
...can you see why I haven't been near my computer to even write a blog :)

In the next couple of days I'll have information about a SALE update!

My Drop In Screen Printing Workshop

Hello, Hello!

As you would have read on the blog last Thursday there is a lovely Pop Up Shop taking place next week at the Oak Studio in Hampstead by Heart Zeena.

Zeena will be selling her Textiles and Homewares from 11th - 15th July as well as hosting some great workshops including knitting, drawing and of course screen printing.

I am excited to share with you that Zeena has asked me to hold one of the screen printing workshops which will be held on Wednesday's Open Evening.

The screen print workshop will be treated as a drop in session where you can come down to the shop, browse and buy Zeena's fab products, as well as have a go at the screen printing process.

This is perfect for those of you who have never tried screen printing before - or even if you have, it's still worth coming and having a go.

You will get to see what the printing process entails, and is a great first hand opportunity to experience how we make our beautiful printed wares.

This great little workshop is FREE and you get to walk away with your own screen printed piece of card...which will be a perfect idea to then frame.

I will also be selling a few of my Interior Accessories in Zeena's Pop Up Shop, including my Lavender Bags, Greeting Cards, framed Cut Out Prints, Coasters and my Pretty Flower Cushions, which are currently on SALE!

So if you're in the Hampstead area on Wednesday evening from 6:30pm, pop into the Oak Studio, say hi and do a little screen printing, it'll be great to see you!

Laura Felicity

A Lovely Pop Up Shop...

For today's blog I want to tell you about a lovely friend of mine who is putting on a lovely Pop Up Shop for five days next week, based in the gorgeous area of Hampstead.

Zeena is a fellow screen printer who creates beautiful and quirky Textiles and Homeware which make perfect gifts for yourself for a loved one.

Based at the Oak Studio just off of Hampstead's High Street, Zeena will be selling her wares as well as putting on some great craft workshops, one of which I will be featuring in! (See flyer above)

...more information about how I'm playing a part will be posted here in the next few days.

But for now, check out Zeena's website and put 11th-15th July 2012 in your diaries, otherwise you'll regret you've missed a fabulous Pop Up Shop experience.

My Little Project

Hi all,

I have started off this week getting back into screen printing.  With the two shows (Made In Clerkenwell and Pulse) within one month of each other, the making side to Laura Felicity came to bit of a stand still.

But not to worry I was back in the printing workshop in full force today working on a little wallpaper project.

I am currently redecorating my bedroom as a little 'DIY' project which has been going on for a couple of months (more of this will be shared with you in the month to come), and being a wallpaper designer and maker it seemed silly not to incorporate one of my wallpaper designs within the project.

The walls have been prepped and papered with lining paper, but there is still so much to do! i.e. re-glossing skirting boards, picture rails, painting some of the walls etc.  However I couldn't wait any longer to print the paper, and so today was the day.

I have chosen to do a Feature Wall in the room with my Geometric Flower wallpaper.  I don't think this wallpaper pattern has had enough exposure within the design world as much as I'd hoped, especially when 'Dotty Bird' and 'Pretty Flower' are a huge success.

I on the other hand have a secret love for this pattern and I think all it needs is for people to see what it looks like as a feature to get to realising what a lovely design it is.
And so, I have taken it upon myself to use this pattern and show it in all its glory, and I am really happy with the nearly finished outcome...

I have chosen a different colour palette to my three retail options for Geometric Flower as I needed it to match the bedroom colour scheme.  Instead I have printed the paper in the Dotty Bird's Cream and Plum Purple colour range.

I think this colour combination works really well with Geometric Flower and makes it a very striking pattern, so much so I am adding this colour to my Geometric Flower retail and bespoke options!

All that's left to do with the wallpaper (apart from hang it) is iron on the gold foil butterflies I have already printed, and cut a few of them out so they'll create a fluttering effect.  This is inspired by my Bespoke Wallpaper option 'Cut-Out Flutter'.

When the room's done, it will reflect a romantically elegant and relaxing haven for me to wind down in after a long day of work.

I'm so excited to get it all finished and show you!

Best Wishes,

Laura Felicity
